As the Head of Editorial, you will be responsible for the day-to-day content operations, ensuring smooth execution and delivery of content in line with the strategic data-backed direction of our business. As the resident in-house copywriter, copy editor, and content planner, you will collaborate closely with the team in developing and executing content strategies.
To accomplish this, you will work with a small, cross-functional team, including product managers, designers, and researchers, putting you at the centre of the action.
We’re looking for an experienced editor who is excited to shake up the world of Web3, Crypto, NFT, and the metaverse, and eager to work together with the team to drive our content initiatives forward.
Audience Understanding – developing a deep understanding of the audience in order to help deliver increasingly relevant content that drives engagement.
Briefing & Editing – editing content, optimising reading flows, deliveries and overall packaging of our content (title, introduction, thumbnail).
Collaboration – collaborate with the Chief Content Officer to develop content plans, editorial calendars, and innovative content initiatives. Cross-department collaboration with marketing, research, and design teams to ensure content is aligned with the company’s branding and goals.
Copywriting – collaborating with marketing and tech teams to establish a cohesive and impactful brand voice and style across all platforms, delivering captivating messaging that speaks to our target audience.
Data-backed actions – constant evaluation of content and the ability to act on content-related data, creating action plans and being unafraid to experiment (even with unorthodox methods) to drive better numbers.
Editorial Strategy – develop and implement a comprehensive editorial strategy to enhance and expand our content offerings. Including a content calendar and ledger.
Engagement – using customer understanding to generate ideas to develop regular email features that drive engagement and using data to continuously improve results.
Industry Expertise – responsible for going deep into understanding the industry niche and discovering what will drive the audience engagement.
Leadership/Training – overseeing and training a young team of writers to produce world class content and a wider team with a range of skills to drive subscriber growth and engagement.
Monetisation – contributing to the continuous development of our monetisation strategy that balances driving subscriber lifetime value and engagement.
Publishing – responsible for making decisions on appropriateness for the publication and getting the content ready for distribution when users expect it. Using data to optimise publishing times and ensuring consistency in style/branding/tone.
- 5+ years first class writing, editing abilities with a strong editorial judgement.
- Strong understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and related technologies.
- Excellent skills in: writing, editing, communication, decision making, organisational and leadership.
- Detail-oriented and timely deliveries.
- Experience developing and building brands with a niche, targeted audience.
- Track record commissioning and producing world class, engaging content.
- Experience building engaged audiences that drive business results.
